Moving Forward - One Treatment At A Time!
It’s done! Taxol treatment #9 is in the bag! Three more to go - can hardly believe it. Today was rough because the treatment center was packed - beyond capacity! The nurses were whizzing around, every seat was full and I even saw two patients get quick infusions seated on the roller chairs from the nurses’ desk. One person had a horrible reaction to chemo, so the paramedics were called and they packed the place even more! Poor lady - bad enough going to chemo, but worse still to have it spiral down to an ambulance ride to the hospital.
I started with my treatment bags of fluids just hanging from a hook on the rolling stand. Half way through the whole thing, a pump unit freed up when another patient left. So I was connected to that and it all went well. I was aware that I’m a chemo veteran in that unit. Six months of back-to-back chemo treatments have put me in a place where I totally know the drill, know the people, know the possibilities. Not a life skill I was particularly eager to acquire, but ……….. Hope I’m learning all the important lessons that this portion of my life is bringing to me!

Friendly reminder to check your breasts while you’re just sitting there scrolling the internet, then reblog so your followers do the same. Two people I know were just diagnosed within the same week.

We can’t believe you people fucking believe this shit has anything to do with womens’ health. Notably, these scams also decrease donations to real charities.
There is a documentary on the topic though, so at least some people are waking up: Pink Ribbons, Inc.

We’re heading into Breast Cancer Awareness Month and Breast Cancer Care, a UK-based organization, has launched a major advertising campaign to promote confidence and positive body image after breast cancer. The photos and accompanying video are unbelievably beautiful, showing us that beauty is hardly lost to a breast cancer diagnosis.
